In the immediate vicinity of Beltinci is the popular excursion point "Island of Love" in Ižakovci, which boasts a floating mill on the Mura River and a ferry that preserves the ancient way of crossing the Mura River. In the "Brežna hiša" next to the mill, there is a permanent exhibition collection “Büjraštvo on the River Mura”, a Tourist Information Centre and a shop with homemade products, organic flour, drinks and information leaflets for tourists.
Over the centuries, this island was created by the Mura River’s meandering through the countryside and the locals called it the “Island of Love”. Legend has it that this is the place of lovers, since many years ago the Countess of Beltinci, Marija Zichy, found her love here. Maybe you will too.
However, if you have already found your love, you can enjoy the rhythm of the mill wheel, relive the work of the Büjras or take a ferry ride on the Mura River and feel the enchanting power of nature.
